Hyderabad has been an economic engine for 400 years . Secondly telangana is a far far less densely populated state than Tamil Nadu or kerala
Which is why the discussion has basically shifted to the Dravidian model(Tamil Nadu) which is urbanize all the tier 2 cities or the Telangana model which is throw all your eggs into one city(Hyderabad) and turn it into the economic engine of the state.

It is a scam. They give out licenses to specific vendors to sell alcohol. If they were Available easily like in the uk ,govt wouldn't be able to earn taxes through the bidding process that is done to own these alcohol shops for a few years . Indian tax system is so stupid . Very top down
