Now officially 6 weeks into 2026 and I have not sold a single book. Not surprised, because I'm not even trying with promotion any more. After 15 years I'm tired of the whole stupid circus.

For there's more enterprise in walking naked."

This is Luke.

Luke is a very talented writer who has had so many kicks to the nuts writing-wise, it’s ridiculous.

PLEASE, writing Gods (or anyone out there with any strings they can pull), just give him a break? Like, seriously, he’s good at this!!

Reskeets appreciated 🙏

Authors' main perspectives are that gen- #AI is making impacts already on public reception of concepts about the past, will continue to do so, and
"Archaeologists must evaluate these implications to proactively shape the foundations of our engagement with this new technology."

Authors were interested to find out why it's all so awful, and try to estimate how 'outdated' AI content is vs. scientific literature, using complicated computational methods.
This finds chron changes in scientific abstracts over time, but ultimately we don't know what AI training materials are.

🧪🏺 Update - authors have new paper showing how useless gen- #AI is for archaeological illustration.
All 400 images were multiply inaccurate (physically, socially, technologically, environmentally), even with improved prompts.

I keep asking myself: if this happened in Britain, would we protest like Minnesota? Like Iranians? Would we inconvenience ourselves, or even risk our lives, for the sake of others? On Holocaust Memorial Day, I am sitting with this challenge.

On #HolocaustMemorialDay we remember in our prayers all who lost their lives in the Holocaust and in other genocides around the world.

We pledge to work together for a better world and to stand together against prejudice and hatred.

The NHS should issue an invoice every time you get treatment or prescription drugs showing the actual cost so that people start to realise what we'll be throwing away with a Reform government.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you have accomplished thus far in 2026 is reading several books, drinking multiple pots of tea, and consuming a scandalous amount of chocolate croissants, then you have accomplished more than enough.

The detail shows the Tale of the Affectionate Sea Otters who were reputed to have warmed & dried Cuthbert's feet after a night of him meditating & praying whilst standing in the sea.
