Current mood.
I was lying down and this odd feeling, as if I were balancing on a cable, hundreds and hundreds of feet above the ground, and no idea how I got there or how I'd get down, came over me.
Existential vertigo, I suppose.

there's a fab little tomb supposedly of Sweyne, original founder of Swansea, up on the Gower peninsular, lost in the heather close to the Worm's Head. Passed it on horseback, went back on foot and took photos and did a painting.

I painted it a long time ago.

Didn't do a lot of creative stuff this year. Not a lot of writing or drawing or painting. It grieves me that I wasn't able to.
So here's a couple of paintings I did do.

A cleaner who used to be an opera singer. A gardener who used to be a soldier. And then there’s Ben the pet-sitter who’s going to have to cope with it all. It’s going to be a long winter...

By the time we got back onto the road, the heavens opened and the rain became torrential. Biblical, even.
I was VERY glad I wore one of my cloaks because it was nithering even inside the church.

Rare photos of me. Cloaks are very flattering.

I'm doing bits and pieces from time to time but not setting myself to do set amounts. I have a new book *almost* ready to come out but have been too unwell to get final edits etc done.

that's lovely.
I share for #TombTuesday the supposed last resting place of Sweyne, founded of Swansea. Sweyne's How is on Rhossili down on the Gower peninsula. (watercolours). Miles from anywhere; I rode past it on horseback about 20 years ago. We also walked there.

Our long gone Holly. She died in 2010.
She was the best dog ever.

what a pretty thing! I have been known to kintsugi broken things. This is an ostrich egg that got broken. I put it back together and filled the cracks with a gold paste.

Second attempt...
"The Bet" a hard-to-define psychological novel that has two time lines that eventually converge. One begins in high summer, the other in deep unexpected snow. Expect heart-break...

they are lovely. I do the self drying clay (no kiln etc) for the same reason. Often images and ideas from dreams.

Gosh, the sun's set and the clouds have crowded in and it's feeling so dark. Yes, I know it's November and we're going to get darker and darker until the solstice, but it feels so claustrophobic.
Time to light a candle so I don't curse the darkness!

-dozen or so, but begun a lot of others) and published a fair few. I'm writing into the void, still.
Nonetheless, here I am, trying to make sense of a new place. I do feel something of a tired old fossil, though.

Just sharing the cover for my newest book, not yet released. Isn't it pretty?
Curious to know what it might say to folks.
