Since I have a ridiculous over abundance of nature videos taken with my iPhone, I started another TikTok just posting them with random thoughts and musings. And of course it’s doing way better than my regular music TikTok 😂. I’m glad that people are finding comfort in these little moments of zen.

I’m gonna disagree with this one.
What we’re calling “AI” doesn’t replace cognition. It replaces pattern matching, but on its own has no idea which patterns are important or why.
We are nowhere close to an actual thinking machine.

The plow, the steam engine, electricity — all replaced muscle. AI replaces cognition. If you spend your day “reading lots of stuff and turning it into straight English,” well… so does the machine. The goal now is to learn from history and cushion the blow better than last time.

The strike is not about whether or not you approve of Starbucks coffee. It's about the workers, who like all workers deserve equitable treatment and fair pay. That is the issue. Why bring up your personal feelings about the coffee? Nobody in this conversation cares. Start another thread about it.
