We must use our absolute loudest voices to demand this.
When we get a Dem back in the White House they need to use all the powers this corrupt Supreme Court gave the president to undo everything Trump and his crime syndicate did to us.

There isn't a single problem "solved" by edtech that couldn't be fixed with smaller classes led by well-paid teachers given real academic freedom

Democrats in Congress should take note, too.
A majority of Indiana Senate Republicans stood together to reject Trump’s mob-boss politics.

There is more power in standing up to a corrupt, unpopular administration rather than playing its game.

Law firms, universities, foundations, and media companies should take note.

Pete Buttigieg on Indiana’s Redistricting:

“You know, a big part of how Trumpism works is to make you feel totally disempowered — to make him feel inevitable — and yet the clear takeaway from this is he is not unstoppable & you are not without power—”

My main takeaway three days after watching Jay Kelly is that if you ever call me “puppy” as a term of endearment, I will avoid you at all costs for the rest of my life.

Woof. The new iPhone design might be the thing that finally gets me to stop looking at my phone so much.

Has an actual resident of one of the districts that will get eliminated if this new map passes the Indiana Senate today, I cannot tell you how infuriated I am at this whole thing.

If 300 Howitzer rounds blow up an hour away, do you all think I’ll feel the boom?

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

There’s a reason the prose is so bad. Probably multiple reasons, but this is one of them.
I have to say, the notion/claim that someone could seriously write a book on a phone while hiking is simply ridiculous to me.

This is nearly identical to what they plan to do to Indianapolis, except they’re splitting it five ways.

Every non-tenure track faculty member anywhere has dealt with this same student situation. The assignment says scholarly research and they use the Bible as their main source instead. It is never an honest mistake. It is always an attempt to see what they can get away with. They finally found out.

I’m my 18 years of full-time teaching, roughly 20% of my students were always like this. I assume from this thread that’s it’s a much larger % now. And I’m not remotely surprised after all of our institutions pretended life could go back to normal post-Covid without addressing the trauma at all.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I just saw a video where some guys fed images of their town into AI and then told it to output a video of the town with impossibly magical Christmas lights, and I don’t understand why people don’t recognize that that the impossible is only interesting if it’s real.

I’ve been reading all of these to my kids for the last year, except we’re accidentally reading them out of order because my kid played with them and put them back in the slip case wrong. It’s somehow even weirder.
