Apparently I need a fandom account for my own peace of mind?

Current fannish love: 镇魂 | Guardian.

It's also helpful when you put the tag at the beginning of your post, so people immediately know if they want to scroll away or read it.
Just a reminder to be courteous of people trying to avoid spoilers and be sure to tag your posts with the series or movie name.

That way they can mute the tag and enjoy the experience of watching at their leisure.

I'm enjoying that I've been reading more lately, but it does mean I've been watching essentially *nothing* for the last while (esp. since C and I have been listening to the Murderbot audiobooks).

Earlier today I knew the city's Christmas parade was happening tonight, but after we got home from erranding, my brain dismissed the info as no longer relevant.

Sure would've been handy if I'd remembered that before we made the ill-advised decision to order supper from a downtown restaurant. ^^;

I'm about to try milky oolong for the first time, and the smell is aggressively tickling my brain with "this reminds me of *some* other scent, but *what*...?"

telling stories, making art: they're release valves for the churning gyre that is a human emotional experience. like, NO, good GOD, of course i don't want to have a machine do that FOR me. you want me to LIVE in here like that? with the gyre ever-churning? horrifying! grotesque! why even say it
there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually

Posted else-net: a locked Dayjob update. TL;DR: impending new boss.

Cheerier things: we made apple cake last night, so I can have some with tea later. And right now I have a warm lapful of sleepy Sinha.

I was already expecting this week to be a bit all over the place, and then the end of the day at Dayjob included unexpected info about a long-expected change. It may turn out to be fine. It may turn out to be great, even! I'm trying to be open-minded about it, but my brain is already tired.

Fanfic means you have succeeded in creating characters that people are interested in. Nobody gives a shit about your brilliant plot if they aren’t invested in your characters. People invested in your characters enough to write fanfic will stick with you through 10+ seasons of convoluted nonsense.
Fanfiction is the sign of a healthy show, like a cold nose on a dog. It took me a while to come around to it early in my career, but I got there.

(It always *feels* like strong feelings about any story should go under this name, not my wallet name; that just gets more complicated when it's strong feelings about something I actually work on. ^^; For the record: strong feelings are being had about YotD wrapping up.)

I'm going to be sort of stumbling around heartbroken when this ends. It's one of my absolute favorite titles I've worked on (and I've worked on a lot of great things!) and it's been part of my life for so many years.

My great hope now is that with the manga wrapping up, we'll get more anime.

I particularly adore the Warehouse 13 Christmas episode with the piano. I love Claudia so much.

(For those who don't know, our little old man cat Jinksy!bear and his now-long-gone sister Claudia got their names from W13.)
Christmas eps are some of my favourite things. In no particularly order, my top 5 are:
1. An Echolls Family Christmas, Veronica Mars
2. Noel, The West Wing
3. Regional Holiday Music, Community
4. Silent Night, Haven
5. Literally the entire holiday episode arc from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic
You know what is a weird thing I miss about regular TV seasons?

Obligatory seasonal holiday episodes.

Like, no one dropping 8 episodes in July is going to give you an unhinged Halloween ep, a totally inappropriate murder on Christmas ep, and probably some weird Valentine's Day nonsense.

The trouble with managing to do more reading this month than has happened in a while: the feeling of constantly having to decide YET AGAIN what book to start reading next.

Poor Yona has never succeeded in getting us to come back downstairs for play once we've both come up to get ready for bed, but not for lack of trying. (She has such a clear, sweet voice even when she's yelling up to us hopefully from the kitchen.)
