Just finished reading the Collins amendment to HR 5371. It's a 99% by-the-book bill. The section amending the definition of hemp is the most egregious part of this bill, but it doesn't fit within Umberto Eco's definition of fascist.
It's a day off for Congress. Senate has gone home and the House is flying in tomorrow to pass the amended HR 5371. In the mean time, I'm reading the Collins amendment. So far, nothing fascist. Just bans on Dept of Ag people using funds to fly first class or building computer networks w/o porn blocks

Democrats who have decided to throw trans people on the bus, whether by actively attacking them or simply refusing to defend them (or justifying the refusal to defend them) in the midst of this genocidal onslaught have stood up to be counted with fascists and should be treated no better.
A non-negotiable for Democrats in the 2028 primaries is that they must promise to expand and reform the court. The Supreme Court has lost all legitimacy to rule and it needs to be completely overhauled. Nothing less would be an abject failure and acquiescence to Republican ratfucking of the court.
SCOTUS has granted a stay in Trump v. Orr, the trans passport case, meaning that the government will be able to once again deny gender marker changes to trans passport applicants.
This is a terrible decision with horrifying consequences for trans folks.
