So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

We cut down a tree and put up these things. What’s next, the little crossing flags?
8 of these cartoonish, victim-blaming signs have been installed at a Greenway crossing since Dot Dobbins was killed there by a driver on June 8, 2025.

Airport authority claims it was "unprecedented" that a lot of people visited Nashville on Monday, causing traffic mayhem. The same "unprecedented" phenomenon that happens around the holidays and major events several times a year?

Build the damn train already.

✈️ #Nashville has a great airport except for its dearth of transit options. If TDOT & Airport Authority can move heaven/earth/$$ for expedited road widenings, toll lanes & Tesla tunnels, we can surely make express buses happen! #BetterBusForBNA #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork

I enjoyed this. And what an infectious laugh. ❤️

Flashing lights and tiny yield signs do not save lives. We just have to make drivers slow down and stop. Speed cushions and stop signs could have been installed months ago.

Why are we still valuing traffic throughput over people's lives?

Shortly after Dot Dobbins was killed crossing 3rd Ave, a traffic signal was installed at Van Buren and 3rd. The Vision Zero committee expressed concerns when this was presented during the fatal crash review in July, but it was installed anyway.

Since, another pedestrian has been hit here

Legalize it.
Legalizing corner stores in more neighborhoods would allow more people to buy groceries without needing to drive.
May we all one day be so privileged as to consider our grocery store maybe being a little more crowded a crisis meriting a call for divine aid

It was a completely idiotic, ill-thought, and unnecessary reaction.

This tree did NOT block visibility whatsoever.

Its knee-jerk removal is symbolic of decision makers’ inability to properly evaluate and act on ped safety in Nashville.

Didn’t know we used to have beautiful bridges in this town!
apparently it was Woodland Street, not Main. The Tennessean stitched it together with present day.

It was burned down by the First Confederacy when they were running away from the US Army.

It is absolutely striking that even though the East Bank team refused to even show the 4-lane designs from the Imagine East Bank Vision Plan in this survey, almost 80% of respondents rejected the 6-lane cross-sections they chose to show instead.

If that's not a mandate, I don't know what is.
Greater than 3/4 majorities oppose the six-lane cross sections for River North and south of Jefferson St. Some in the "support" category also indicated a preference for walkability and safety. The survey, though, omitted the four-lane alternatives included in Imagine East Bank.
