One consistent piece of advice I keep coming across is that when you start writing, your first bunch of stories will probably be bad.
That makes sense (because why would you be good at something right out of the gate) but I don’t like to think about it.

When I told people I was moving to Minnesota, most folks responded with “Oh, those winters!”
So far…I really like winter up here. Yes, driving in it sucks, and shoveling sucks. But the cold and persistent snow on the ground reminds me of winters in Iowa when I was a kid.
And my dog loves the snow!
