It's the wonder of nature, baby! SKYDRAMA 2025 is coming.

My annual year-end storm chasing flick promises to be one of my longest winded ever, packed with supercells and tornadoes from the Great Plains to the Midwest.

Wednesday night before Thanksgiving release, Nov 26!

Yesterday I got notified of this, which could be the earliest representation of an actual Italian tornado. Created by Norwegian painter Thomas Fearnley, this painting represents a waterspout in the Naples Gulf on July 8th 1833. The event is 100% real and not an harmless one

Just found this image of the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption in Iceland that I've never shared before. Being in the presence of this volcano and feeling the intense heat of the Earth on my skin was genuinely the best experience of my life and its not even close. #photography

Wish I had better shots of it, but it looks like it wasn't a Bridge Creek look-a-like just for show after all.

We rode a small boat to dry ground, hiked, and then hitchhiked back to Oklahoma. We encountered many people who lost loved ones, homes, and almost everything along the way. Back in the relative safety of Oklahoma we watched the humanitarian disaster continue to unfold. #Katrina

Entry-level meteorologist positions (I think 40 of them) are posted! I promise the NWS is still an amazing place to work and full of wonderful, passionate people. And we are going to need more great people, with all kinds of skill sets.
NWS is hiring! Are you interested in working for an agency that uses science and technology to protect lives and property? Additional mission-critical positions just posted on usajobs.gov, including Meteorologist (1340) openings. Many are great opportunities for first-time hires. More coming soon!
