From Monday's NCEI January report...10 states from Texas to the West Coast had their record warmest "November - January" period in 131 years.

Only somewhat "below average" in MA, OH, PA.

Sunday 9:57 am: Snow pellets briefly mixed in with rain showers in Bermuda, temperatures entirely below freezing in the clouds which were in the saturated air between 5,000’ and 10,000’ altitude. Winds gusting as high as 71 mph, reached 43.9F, just above the record low of 43.3F

I, for one, am not surprised that the pseudoscientific LRC is at the Chaser Summit.

Here are the results of my review of the LRC from NWA in September.

It performs worse than climo for temperatures and no better than chance for precipitation.

Gary Lezak, who made his own long-term forecast method Lezak's Recurring Cycle (LRC). It's junk and he can't get it into any real research pubs. He cherry-picks events that validate his forecast (which is usually climo) and never verifies forecasts that don't work out.
