Are you an IAEM member in Maryland?

I am looking for some folks to perhaps put forward as recommendations to be Maryland representative for Region 3 as I move to Region 6.

If you are interested, can you DM me?

I stopped using the word ‘misinformation.’

To many it feels like a slap in the face and immediately sows distrust — not a great way to start a conversation or reach people outside the academic bubble.

Why I stopped using the word 'misinformation'

My take from the discussion at tropical.colostate.edu/Forecast/202... is to not let your guard down even though hurricane season has not been very active. The note of the possibility of a strong Central American gyre concerns me as I know that the CAG can give rise to “home grown” storms in October

1. What is the #1 concern about the impacts to EM weather support?

2. What exp or op change do you currently have?

3. What topic do disasters & emergency managers need to grow knowledge in regarding weather?

If you prefer to DM, please do.

I think this is done in the communities through trusting relationships and conversations.

We need to get offline to build some of those.
A straggler thought after yesterday's #NWAS25 digital-first sessions and this morning's #helene content: post-disaster misinfo is out of control. we have elected reps actively theorizing weather-control machines (wouldn't that be nice?). Question is: How do we push back? Esp. online?
