as somebody who legally has never been able to sports bet (nor wants to), it’s really fucking pervasive and all of these companies are disgusting shills for it

A massive scandal.

Kash Patel and Pam Bondi refusing to investigate the murders of American citizens to cover up Trump administration culpability.
NYT confirming MS NOW reporting:

Prosecutors began investigating Renee Good's killing, then Washington told them to stop.

Federal prosecutors had a warrant to collect evidence from Good's vehicle, but Trump leaders said to drop it. About a dozen prosecutors have since departed.

Metry and her husband of 4 years go to DHS to get their I-130 in motion. "Good news" a DHS employee told them, the form to start her naturalization was approved.

DHS employee asks the husband to follow him through a secure door. When it locks behind him, ICE detains his wife to deport her.
EXCLUSIVE: Terez Metry was 13 when her family fled to Tennessee from Egypt in 2011. Then, they left her behind. She only recently discovered she had an order of removal from 2011. But she was following the legal path to citizenship. On Monday, at a routine DHS meeting, Metry was detained.

BREAKING: A 5th Circuit panel has backed ICE's mass detention policy, a decision that clears the way for the administration to lock up people who are in immigration proceedings

It's a 2-1 ruling

Minority: Douglas (Obama)

bruh lol
So, one of the Epstein docs released was inexplicably a practice MBE exam. And yet, there were several redactions in it. Which suggests that perhaps the DOJ/FBI isn't taking care to redact properly.

Guess they blindly redacted IM / AM (or PM) without context.

this absolutely gutless camera-hogging milquetoast ineffective useless empty suit. backbone of a paper straw
Majority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.”

Once again it looks like Schumer is about to choke after getting a massive opportunity.

So pathetic and weak.

gee whiz it would be really great if the opposition party smelled blood in the water right now and went on a full offensive to harness this spark of momentum

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

This is horrifying. Blasting windows out of a house 14 seconds after ordering the residents to come out, who happened to be a mom and two small children. Also U.S. citizens, but it would be horrifying no matter who was in the house. For alleged property damage by a guy who wasn’t home at the time.
This NYT video shows DHS using explosives to blow the door off a home of a U.S. citizen wanted for "injuring government property" in Huntington Park CA on 6/27 as Bovino watches nearby. The case, involving a collision with a CBP vehicle, was flimsy and later dropped.

DHS is using explosives on people’s homes???

The Trumpist strategy, to the extent there is one, is centered around an assertion of absolute power. They want to convince people that resistance is futile.

A crucial part of the struggle against encroaching authoritarianism is to reject such notions. Don’t acquiesce. Make them earn it.
I wrote about Minnesotans putting their lives on the line to fight for their city, protect their neighbors, and defend the Republic against tyranny.

Some thoughts from my new piece - angry and alarmed, but also hopeful and inspired:

The People Struggle Against Tyranny
Another execution of an American citizen. A regime that has no strategy but to lash out. The struggle against Trumpist authoritarianism is only going to get bloodier.
