I've been saying it a lot, but these deaths line up with what happened in early concentration camps during other regimes: Deaths from poor conditions, disease, or abuse. These deaths are not accidental. They are the direct result of a camp system that is designed to harm those being imprisoned.
I received notification of yet another death at an ICE facility, meaning 38 people have died in custody since Trump returned to office.
ICE is failing to ensure the health and safety of the people it is responsible for.
We need immediate oversight of this entire operation.

Seems important to note that last summer the Trump administration emphatically claimed there was “no evidence” to justify investigating uncharged third parties in the Epstein files.

As the parent of a trans kid, this makes me incredibly sad. My kid has *always* been the person they are now. There was not some other version that ceased to exist. I didn't lose the child I gave birth to, I gained deeper knowledge when that child decided to trust me with their reality.

Thread. ICE may well end up murdering this baby, and this outrage is representative, not exceptional.
We are all deeply concerned that Juan and his mom will be deported and that Juan’s health will continue to deteriorate. His life is in danger because of ICE’s monstrous cruelty. I will continue to provide updates and we will keep fighting to protect them.
