that UBI lifts people out of poverty and in most cases allows them to thrive has been proven and written about time over time. however if you keep electing politicians that think poor people should die we won't get anywhere with this.

- saves taxpayers $ long-run (cheaper than poverty)
- most Canadians benefited from some sort of basic income (CCB, GIS)
- people in AI pretty much all support UBI

A few years back, one of the coolest things I did was cheer on runners at Mile 19. People were surprised and kind of happy that a random stranger was rooting for them. Some were struggling and a little encouragement really helped. A few even said, “I needed this” as they ran by.
We have such capacity for love. I wish we knew that

If we lived in a moral society we would tax the wealthy at a rate such that a minimum basic income and a living minimum wage would obviate the need for programs like SNAP.
