Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Release from HHS: HHS will wind down its development of the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

RFK Jr. backs down all the time when he gets push back, so if anyone wants to call, here's the HHS number 1-877-696-6775.
I'd also call your senators/reps as well.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announces he will cancel $500 million in vaccine development projects.

I love this. A very hopeful (imho) call to action. I would like to find more weird music, art, and writing online tyvm.

Time to start creating in public more
the way forward is absolutely DDoS'ing the web with Real Culture.

everywhere people turn they should see creative shit that absolutely blows their mind or pisses them off or makes them depressed or excites them.

accelerated culture spawn, the death of art, etc.
are we creating culture, or is it being created for us?

I can tell I’m going to be thinking about this for a long time
Imagine passing down the memories of humanity, not through gold records, or stone tablets, but through a mother starling's song who teaches it to her kids.

The NIH’s 2024 budget of just under $37B generated $95B in economic activity in 2024 alone. 99.4% of new pharmaceuticals approved from 2010-2019 came from NIH-funded research. I’m hard pressed to think of anything that generates as much direct economic benefit as our NIH did before they destroyed it
TAPPER: 14 Republicans say you're risking undermining critical research by holding up NIH funding

VOUGHT: If they were a company, their stock price would in shambles. They in some respects caused the pandemic. You have an entire institute that does nothing more than DEI research at the NIH.

The problem is they’ve shown desire to put their thumb on the weights, and there can no longer be any trust or assumption of neutrality moving forward.
Thing with Grok is that better versions will be less overt and more convincing. An expert on arguing about the deficit, immigration, public health, etc. with a particular political slant

gm bluesky. It's blue Wednesday so I'm posting over here. I guess. You probably heard about Mecca Hitler and think that that would be enough to drive people off of X but it won't. Not without group chats on bluesky, because the internet actually is a dark forest now

“If we are all one planetary social organism now, that creature is in pain. Its own organs attack each other, unable to recognize their interconnectedness. We’re constantly putting up boundaries. Boundaries between nations, between computers, between people.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.”

Specifically any claim that campus activists/mobs/sundry imagined collectives incited the shooting should just be rejected out of hand. The KKK announcing at a rally that they’re going to march for “revengeance” on DC doesn’t even count. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branden...

Brace yourself for a wave of misinformation about “incitement,” a term with a well-defined meaning in constitutional law that has absolutely no application to what appears on the basis of *everything we know* to be a single person’s decision to commit murder
