Well holy fucking shit. Ring cancelled their partnership with Flock. Keep pressure on them to stop volunteering their feeds to state, local, and federal agencies, though, because that part's still going.

Point number two is SO important. So hugely important. These ICS/DHS surges in and out of various cities are not only state terror campaigns of abductions & tremendous personal violence, they are also state acts of economic warfare against the lifeways of persons of color and all who support them.
All of my group chats are responding to Homan’s announcement by asking everyone to double down because:

1. ICE is still out there and abducting people today. We can’t trust the occupation is over until we actually see it.

2. People are going to be in an economic crisis for a very long time.

I will defend the daily practice of hope to the death, but art should be allowed to process and contemplate hopelessness. Watering-down someone else’s work is one of the worst effects of our obsession with remakes
Threads director Mick Jackson has expressed worry over the upcoming remake’s focus on finding “hope even in the most challenging of times.”

“That one phrase worried me,” he tells Empire. “Hope is not part of nuclear war.”

it really can't be said enough that this is a person who has dined with the president of the united states
Fuentes then fantasizes about “breeding gulags”: “So just like Hitler imprisoned Gypsies, Jews, communists, you know, all of his political rivals, we have to do the same thing with women… They go to the breeding gulags. The good ones will be liberated. The bad ones will toil in the mines forever.”

I’m furious at AI because it steals our work, consumes vast resources and produces mediocrity, but along the way it also traumatises the people - mainly in the developing world - who are paid a pittance to train it. Theft, abuse, environmental destruction, all to make rich men richer. Burn it all.

The worst part about being out as trans for over a decade and being almost 40 is that so much of trans culture is really early transition culture and it gets harder and harder to relate as time goes by. Likewise, there are fewer and fewer exemplars to measure myself against

Just what would a "reasonable discussion about AI" even entail? It seems like every single time an insistence upon one of these is invoked, the demands include ignoring or forgetting a lot; a kind of enforced innocence. So that we can... make pundits comfortable musing from provably fake premises?
It is really unfortunate that it's not possible to have a reasonable discussion about AI on here.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

trans people each deserve a free company of mercenary men at arms well trained and well paid to protect your interests

trans people also deserve a large tower to intimidate and survey their italian rivals
All trans people should get free polearms ngl
The trans war flag.

Had some fun with this! Deeper colours than the peacetime trans flag, square, with a guisarme on it- a peasant's weapon that's particularly good at fighting anyone rich enough to be on a horse, that you can use as a farmer's tool in peacetime.

A weapon made solely to deny families closure, to inflict psychic damage on entire societies. People planned and built this. They sold it to their superiors. They manufactured it. They loaded it on planes and drones and dropped it on human beings.
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.

I was hoping they had kept the “a knight who remembers his vows” scene but just moved it to later but they fucking cut it! At least the showrunner admits it was a mistake, but it’s concerning that it was even made in the first place
