Great, concise summary of the situation. (The pull quote but also the more verbose, full piece.)
"What is obvious, however, is that the Democrats who both voted to initiate the shutdown and then caved in the face of no material change of circumstance were either wrong 41 days ago or are wrong now."

@benjaminwittes.lawfaremedia.org assesses what the government shutdown has accomplished.

Anything short of calling for Schumer to be replaced is performative outrage designed to mollify you
November 10, 2025 at 9:50 PM
@congressmanboyle.bsky.social it’s hard to not see this as purely performative when you don’t call for change in leadership.

Schumer is saying “now the Republicans own this.” They didn’t before? What is different now?

We tried to show them after the last surrender. There's no sense in trying to convince them anymore. Primaries are the only path to a fighting opposition party now.

Figure out how to change your caller ID to Joe or Eileen Bailey and call Schumer's office
So, listen, call Schumer’s office no matter where you live, no matter if you’re registered to vote. Leave a voicemail that says if Senate Dems cave without an ACA premiums fix, you will never vote for or donate to another Senate Democrat as long as he is Leader
Call them:

Schumer (NY)

Booker (NJ)
202 224-3224

King (ME)

Durbin (IL)

The WSJ on how unbelievably stupid Noem and Lewandowski are.

I don’t care that I’m late to this; it’s to good to pass up.

Time to vote
November 4, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Philly folks, some of your friends and neighbors are getting up at an aggressively early hour tomorrow morning to open polls.

Please take a minute to find your polling place and decide on a time to vote if you haven’t already. (Earlier is always better!)

We want to see you there tomorrow!

Good summary of the potential/likely source of escalation coming Philly‘s way.
A big shakeup at ICE isn't reshuffling the deck chairs on the U-Boat. More "Kavanaugh Stops," more violent arrests, and more tear gas chaos is coming very soon to Philly and a slew of other big cities

The terror we see in Chicago is going national. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...

People are having a reaction to the Planter thing because they liked him and are now feeling shame that he was outed. There's a reflexive desire to feel like there is something wrong with YOU.

I wish we'd see it differently. There are people all around you who hold these beliefs and you don't know.

That’s $5 billion more than the entire annual USAID budget. All to one country. To rescue one friend of the president’s.
Trump found another $20 BILLION to give to Argentina, totaling their bailout to $40 BILLION.

Yet we can’t afford to prevent millions of Americans from losing their healthcare.

Shame.
