It's weird to ascribe any motivation to Mike Johnson. His function is to do what Trump tells him to do and deflect any criticism to Democrats. Trump is effectively the Speaker, and that's what he wants and why the plan flounders the moment a handful of Republicans show any will of their own.

I’m not a soccer fan but the UVM team going for back to back national championships is a great story. Meanwhile neither the state or the college show any interest in promoting it in a meaningful way. Vermont is great in a lot of ways but it lacks imagination.

The gov’t definitely fell in January. As long as Dems continue to treat the GOP like a legitimate political party it will stay this way. The only way this gets fixed is if we do to EVERY Republican what we should’ve done to every single member of the confederacy.
