Things are in motion. It’s all bitter sweet

Republicans are the source of our current problems. It’s not maga or whatever. Republicans created this moment cause they want this moment. Trump is the result of their work they are not the result of Trump.

Philadelphia sheriff Rochelle Bilal:

“No law enforcement professional wears a mask…No law enforcement professional shoots at a moving vehicle.

“What Trump’s private army is doing…is not only against legal law, but moral law.”

Vows to arrest agents on site who commit crimes.

Jonathan Ross, who shot Renee Good in the face, is local. Derek Chauvin, who knelt on George Floyd's neck, is local.
State and local law enforcement know the communities they serve. They’ve built the trust and know how to keep us safe.

As Minnesotans express their first amendment rights, I encourage you to remain peaceful and know that local law enforcement has one goal in mind: your safety.

Exactly how it will be if he becomes President
i have written this a few times now but the reason JD Vance spends all day posting is that they barely tolerate his presence in the white house and have locked him out of every decision of consequence. he is basically unemployed
Shouldn't you be doing government shit?

I'll also add that taking photos of vehicles including license plates and VINs is also entirely legal. In fact this is one of the best ways to track ICE and warn communities. Many community groups have plate databases that make it easier to quickly identify ICE vehicles even though they swap plates.

Mental note -- when mentioning the Washington Post's past reporting in lecture, be sure to add as an aside that it was once an outlet with a good reputation, otherwise students will be confused.
In which the English editors that Jeff Bezos hired from Rupert Murdoch to run WaPo demonstrate (1) that they don't understand the First Amendment and how it works and (2) that they're also basically illiterate.

The problem described here has existed with Republicans long before Trump was in politics. Like a lot longer before Trump came to be.

I’ll never understand why people help Republicans get away with their vile behaviors by implying their multitude of negative behaviors started after Trump.
I’m noticing that Trumpers talking — on Facebook, or other social media, or interviews, etc. — are increasingly picking up on the administration’s stupid and censorial “libs are provoking this” narrative. Their support for free speech was always bullshit.

This is literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen anyone say. That she was willing to attach her name to this is astounding.

People have lost their minds.
I mean it’s gonna be really hard to top this one

I believe most of the people in that clip were in politics before Trump ever ran for office. They are Republican mouthpieces and they’ve been saying this crap for a lot longer than the maga brand was created.
the most telling thing I’ve seen all week is the Daily Show montage of MAGA mouthpieces pretending to mourn Renée Good’s death before saying she got what she deserved
A time-honored tradition: Republicans offering buts and prayers

Look, I too fought in the "People who make 150-400k in expensive cities are not rich" wars of the 2010s, but these takes need to be updated:

150k in 2010 was at the 90th percentile of HH income, but is at the 67th now.

200k in 2010 was at the 95th percentile of income, but is at the 79th now.

It’s hard to know if people outside MN understand how much of life is grinding to a halt here because of Trump’s occupation. Schools have shut down, businesses are scaling back hours or closing because their employees aren’t safe. The whole city is weighted down.

We may not be able to put every ICE agent in prison but that doesn’t mean we can’t punish them once they try to take off that uniform.

various feminists and queer activists and historians wrote fairly regularly about misogyny as the canary in the coal mine of fascism

“We’ll Have Our Home” again is a song that’s extremely popular with white nationalists. It’s all over Telegram. I think the first time I heard it was from a video of a secretive group called the Mannerbünd.

Instead they banned TikTok forcing it to be sold to a group of other Nazis in cahoots with Musk. Well done Dems.
banning X is a national security issue for every country, plain and simple

its explicit goal is to amplify and empower the largest Nazi-adjacent party in every country in which it operates

it is also the largest deepfake porn generator in the world

this is not a difficult call to make
This is the plain truth.
