In a world where tech billionaires want innovation as instant gratification, @tochitruestory.bsky.social thinks we should try to “move slow and make things.”
Dear Tech Evangelists: Have You Tried “Move Slow and Make Things”?
When working on a book about tech, the longue durée of the writing and publishing process is the yawning gulf beneath the tightrope, as the writer makes their way from thesis to destination. A sing…

I, too, would make sure that all the people who would need to coordinate to halt or reverse my political progress were gathered from across the planet in the same room while I demonstrated why they should probably do that
if i were a would-be dictator whose only civilian check on power had been consumed by total-complete partisan loyalty, something i would definitely do is call an unprecedented in-person meeting of the only people who could stop me and then proceed to illustrate why they should stop me

For real, if you've ever been considering reviewing / interviewing / etc. someone but stopped yourself because the book was released months ago... do it! We love getting coverage after pub day.
Worst thing to happen to book crit was getting mercilessly synced to pub dates. writer gets 97% of the coverage they're ever getting by the end of week 2, & if the book is widely reviewed (positive or not) in prestige places some of your would-be audience burns out on takes & skips the book itself.

I have no idea what I'm saving this picture for, but I know the day will come where it will serve as a response beyond perfection, expertly braised, with just the right amount of meme. And when that day comes, I will be so glad of the wisdom and forethought I exercised today.

Saw Flight with a law school buddy at the AMC Magic Johnson when it came out.

During the scene where Denzel gets rid of all the liquor in his cabin, a guy in front of us, very audibly, lamented "NO, NOT THE HENNY!"
Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema?

During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.
Someone in my audience had a very audible negative reaction to the dog scene in TOGETHER. So that was fun!

Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday
Tucked away in the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' is the requirement that all visitors to the US must pay $250 just to enter the country starting 1 October! For a family of 5 that's $1250! I doubt this will help America's crashing tourism business which is down 10% already since January
