Here in the Scottish real world our present govt on election said 'Hospital parking will be free'
The result is that NHS funds are spent on car park maintenance, nobody can get parked after 07.30 and everyone moans about lack of parking.
Hosp estate car parks are now bigger than hospital sites:

The comic swap is full, the seed library is full and there are plenty of books and toys available for the Easter break!

The best part? We no longer have to top most of it up ourselves. Local residents are doing that independently

Creating this space has been a true joy.

Not only could I hire this trailer for free for a tip run from @wfcouncil but there was also a dedicated cargo bike parking space right next to where I needed at the tip. What's your local authority doing?

Very few Dutch cyclists wear helmets. Yet theirs are among the safest streets on earth. Why?

They understand it’s more beneficial to calm motor traffic, build dedicated infrastructure, and nurture a culture of everyday cycling. Not force the most vulnerable users to armour up.

In a patriarchal, car-dominated world that rewards “masculine energy” it’s actually a wildly subversive act to be a women on a bike. I have been yelled at, pulled, told I’m risking my children’s lives, flipped off, and ignored. And yet the joy I feel out weighs it all. #bikes destroy #patriarchy.

Schools with any interest in safeguarding should be refusing "road safety education programmes" and publicly naming them for the victim-blaming, accountability-dodging indoctrination exercises that they are.
As a result of a series of deaths the council has put in not one but two new signs and run "a road safety education programme with children" at a local school. The people in this story think that may not be enough.
