Alright. Hello BlueSky! I’m a reporter focusing on environment/science & rural affairs. Working for the BBC in Birmingham. Looking to find some West Mids/Science/Farming people on here. And for downtime any discussion of active travel and cycle lanes. We need a cargo bike emoji.
And the neighbourhood WhatsApp group is lighting up with gifs

E-cargo bikes sound pretty amazing in this new UK study:

"Parents’ and children’s enjoyment, curiosity, and sense of adventure encouraged additional travel, transforming routine journeys into playful and memorable family experiences."

Some behind the scenes news presenting secrets. The great Nick O taught me to take my shoe off to operate the autocue pedal (easier to find it in stocking feet) and the twins were disappointed I didn’t look at them or say hello to them. Now NYE sushi!! Happy New Year to all.

I have just discovered that next year the bike lane that takes me into town will be expanded and protected. Genuinely happy about that.

What’s the best Christmas present? Is it the massive dollhouse or is it BOX?

Happy Christmas. The best from our family of criminally early rising kids to yours

Yup. Once were surprised to wake up to a tiny mouse running around downstairs who hatched a lift in our tree.
they don’t tell you when you buy a christmas tree at the christmas tree farm that you could take it home, decorate it, and then be relaxing in your living room seven nights later when A BAT suddenly flies out and starts CRASHING AROUND YOUR HOUSE

Packaging and why it matters.
1. The riot of sparkle, rustle and colour in a tub of Cadbury Roses from 1990s
2. The soulless, corporate “flow wraps” that Mondelez now uses.
It makes me despair

Spaghetti monster knows the work on City Road has taken forever… but look they repaired the blue bike lane with the right colour tarmac. 👏🏻

First: just no. But also I can see this as just the sort of thing to convince law makers to put in more bicycle lanes
Ya, no.
If I see one of these in one of our bike lanes, it's going be out of action pronto.

I once ended a particularly fraught bulletin by just slumping down and collapsing onto the desk in relief. And the director reminded me I was still visible on the wide shot.
This is how I would end the news if I was reading the news.

First time since she died I've tried to recreate mum's notorious xmas brandy butter. Notorious for actually using rum and for getting progressively boozier over the decades. Moving from solid to a sort of thin soup consistancy. It's actually prety spot on. At least for one of the more firm ones 😅
