There’s going to be a lot of kids that won’t be able to make a decision without talking to their AI chatbot as adults. They’ll know close to nothing. If you want your kid to be the smartest person in the room in a decade or two, encourage them to do the work without the bots.

The idea of judging a disability based on medication efficacy is horrible. Some medication effectiveness changes. And you can bet that any vets that have their rating lowered will probably never get it raised when that happens. www.stripes.com/veterans/202...
Veterans slam new VA rule for determining disability ratings
The new rule states that a disability level must be based on how well a veteran functions while on medication and not on the underlying impairment.

100% this. Been in chronic pain for 9 years. It took me the first 3 to accept this truth.
Chronic pain is disability. So to everybody out there in pain all the time, you're disabled. I know we keep our chronic pain to ourselves because no one wants to hear about it & do our best to manage. But if it affects your day to day functionality, you're a disabled person.

Capitalism is a death cult.
Stripping the EPA’s authority to fight climate change is a dereliction of duty. More profits for fossil fuel executives and wealthy shareholders at the expense of our planet and future.

The climate emergency is here.

Are Waymos unlocked? I won’t use the cat killing machines, but I’ll definitely open some doors. 🤝
Waymo, Google’s autonomous vehicle company, and DoorDash have launched a pilot program that pays delivery workers, at least in one case, around $10 to travel to a parked Waymo and close its door that a previous passenger left open, according to a joint statement from the company given to 404 Media.

It’s not a natural adoption. AI has been shoved down our throats in every facet of our lives without even a hint of choice. And the only outlook it poses to the working class is destitution if the oligarchs get their way. There is nothing showing they won’t.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.
