Hi! I live in Northern Va (NOVA), a separate state from the rest of Va (ROVA).

Born in DC, moved beyond the Beltway before it was built; the next 60 yrs saw the area become “close in.”

The most American thing about me? I grew up in a Greek immigrant family, but now I’m just an old white lady. 👋
Look at these men. They are ashamed of themselves as they should be. They are standing here while the president calls their professional colleague a “stupid person.”

I don’t care if you think you’ll lose access. You need to speak up. Decent Americans are tired of this and disgusted with all of you.

Hey @harvard.edu – You must fire Larry Summers. Now. To keep him in any capacity is to endorse his behavior and Epstein's crimes.

Still wild to me that Trump pointed in a woman’s face and said “Quiet, Piggy!” and literally no one who witnessed it was like “Whoa, there bro” either because they didn’t care or they weren’t surprised, or both.

Meanwhile, here's an example of the horrendous things found in Hillary Clinton's emails—the only story worth covering for any serious news outlet in 2016, apparently.

This email is also regarding a child who suffered abuse from a grown man.

They were chosen because they are not up for reelection so they can safely piss off voters.

The only answer is you have to hold the entire caucus accountable for the surrender. Every Dem who isn't calling for new leadership ought to be primaried. That, or accept continued failure.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

@kaine.senate.gov we marched and we voted and we felt hope for the first time in a year and you just completely erased that with your betrayal.

Please tell us what we should do now. Please. What can we do that you won’t fuck up?

@kaine.senate.gov you are officially a piece of shit if you cave now. Your constituents do not want you to.

i probably sound like an asshole tonight but man i am fucking tired of pretending that democratic voters and urban people with all of the implications republicans have very much stopped pretending to dogwhistle about are not the heart of this country. it's us. it's always been us

Someone asked recently what is the most American thing about me. My answer? I was raised in an immigrant family, but now—at 68–I’m just an old white lady.

As a second-generation Greek-American, Mamdani’s vision is the America I was raised to believe in. 🇺🇸
Watching Mamdani's victory speech, I'm struck by his—and his campaign's—unabashed vision of the US as an immigrant society, a culture built from the ground up from diversity. It is a complete rejection and reversal of the search for a white-washed homogeneity that the political right projects.

Proud of my state tonight.
I just got back home from Governor-elect Spanberger's party in Richmond. A few things:
1) Emerge Virginia had a banner night. EVA alumnae flipped the Governor's seat and 8 House of Delegates seats Red to Blue, retained all 17 of HoD incumbents and swept all six local races where they ran. 🧵
