My first video has to be Eddie, our (legal, registered) desert tortoise, shoving open the door and coming into our/his house. If we don’t close the door all the way, he will do this almost every day. He doesn’t usually stay long, just checks to make sure we’re keeping things up to his standards. 🐢

The worst thing about the phrase "what is this place?" is once you notice it, you'll see it being used ALL OVER in movies and tv and comics and prose, everywhere, over and over again.

The second-worst thing is realizing there's a place where it'd be really handy in your own story >:(

I also wish people understood we read fiction and non-fiction differently. Do you read fiction often? Probably not, I don’t either these days.

That’s cause it’s harder! It requires more active engaging of the brain, looking for words that *werent* said, wondering why they weren’t said
