I cannot even begin to express my rage at this lie

reading this through me back into my pandemic EMT life, attempting to resuscitate a child experiencing a cardiac arrest secondary to COVID while a father says “we heard that the vaccine was riskier than COVID for kids” and a mother wails in agony
NEW: The F.D.A. announced in an internal memo that 10 children died "because of" the Covid shot. Other experts want to see proof.

“This is a profound revelation,” Dr. Prasad's memo said. “For the first time, the U.S. F.D.A. will acknowledge that Covid-19 vaccines have killed American children.”

I tell them I can help them work through literally anything else that may threaten them passing the course, and that I will do whatever I can to drag them across the finish line if I need to, so long as they don't cheat.

And then I give a short version of the speech again before every assignment.

Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

Next time any piece of shit politician tells you that "these are russian territories", "everyone speaks russian there" and so on - show them this. That is the "how" and the "why". It is called ethnocide and has been done numerous times by russia over the past centuries, to erase us.

This a thread about one feature of the Trump Admin's EO regarding the Smithsonian that I haven't seen much explicit discussion of. The stated purpose for reviewing Smithsonian exhibits and collections is to ensure they align with something called "Americanism." That term has a notable genealogy.

Wild to watch corporate democrats rightly condemn Trump’s extrajudicial murders of innocent people in Carribean—while simultaneously pretending Trump isnt letting Netanyahu do the exact same thing to Palestinians in Gaza & the West Bank.

Their cowardly silence on Gaza enables this in the Caribbean

I guess it’s a good thing we were so concerned about the right to speak our opinions being outlawed by a ruling class that we guaranteed it by making it the very first amendment in our Bill of Rights when we formed the country.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

Today, the federal government does not consider these workers professional.
