Celebrating 700 years of protecting reality from those who would warp it, and humanity from that which would eat it.

Hey folks! Welcome to the home of the Technocracy on Bluesky, where we're celebrating the 700th anniversary of the founding of the Order of Reason in `1325! Stay tuned for news of the exciting events we have in store in honor of this achievement, and for some of the plans we have for your future!
You can kill the golden goose through starvation and overwork just as thoroughly as you can through cutting it open, it just takes a bit longer.
When you think that you don't have to worry because the fans bring the money no matter what (which they did for some time, so it wasn't just pure arrogance)... Well, that is when any company starts growing really shitty, both morally and quality-wise.

All that I'm saying is that Wonka exploited refugees to be indentured servants and had a total disregard for the safety of his workers or visitors. Slugworth ran a union shop, offered generous benefits including a retirement package, and was #1 in safety each year among the major confectioners.

Speaking as someone who came up through the ranks in Media Control before transferring to The Feed, this is breathtakingly incompetent unless she's secretly working to expose the influence Trump has over the media.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

Lord knows I'm not a fan of any of this corporate media consolidation — Netflix and Paramount both should be barred from buying WBD.

But in terms of sending a message, would be stellar if everyone watched Good Night and Good Luck on Netflix together next Sunday when 60 Minutes is on the air.

The official annual holiday party is always awkward and dull. The afterparty is where we're able to have some fun, but obviously not everyone gets an invite and yes I'm talking to YOU Agent Mitch "The Snitch" van der Veen. That's what you get for bringing along Internal Security as a plus one.

Finally, someone sees past the myth. Hong Kong cinema is endlessly entertaining, but it rotted so many impressionable young minds.
The whole "the Old Magic sucks because material conditions have advanced" thing, but applied to cinematic martial arts. No, yeah, the legends are true, that move USED TO explode a man's entire skeleton, but you need to understand that people had more fragile bones back then. Poor nutrition, you see.
