Somewhere somehow, we need to start from scratch when it comes to media. Powerful owners might sometimes make the right call (e.g. that scene in Spielberg’s THE POST). But often, they won’t. And so the future of news should *never* be at the mercy of the rich, ever. A brand-new start is needed.

Lots of folks saying “this is good” but no, it very much is not.

1) this is the 4th amendment
2) this is a historical norm at worst
3) this is already required
4) again, at worst an historic norm
5) 4A
6) 4A
7) fine
8) good if enforceable
9) useless
10) again, at worst a historical norm

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.

The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.

Happy Black History Month.

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

Kiddies who made it out of the ICE dungeon report sighting a schoolmate. Before this, the school district had no information on their whereabouts. The family has now been connected with a lawyer.

Youngsters who escape a govt dungeon are the only way to track abducted children? This is fine!
The two children who returned to MN today say they saw one of their Valley View schoolmates at a detention center in TX. This is a child whose family was last in contact with the school on January 9. No one has known where they were until now.

Truly remarkable coincidence that the quality of the Post's reporting declined at the exact same time Bezos and Lewis decided that their core mission was to alienate the paper's core readers as frequently and aggressively as possible. What are the odds www.lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com/2026/01/pivo...

New wild-ass, untested hunch: the GOP will have lawsuits ready to go in every red-mirage district, and file them at midnight on Election Day, hoping to draw enough scummy judges to get vote counting stopped in at least some districts where R candidates “lead,” so they can get in front of SCOTUS.

Jeffrey Epstein to Bob Iger: "what if you took the MCU and made like a hundred streaming shows out of them that never actually advanced a plot"
It’s gotten to the point where you’ll be surprised if something terrible in the world wasn’t planned out in the Epstein emails. You’ll be searching for Wendy’s Spicy Chicken not hitting the way it used to and be like “wow I guess he didn’t have anything to do with that one”

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are

his net worth is $253.2 billion.
so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire
and then do it again tomorrow
and again the day after that
and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months

No one is upset by someone being mentioned in a conversation between two other people.
People are side-eyeing people offering or asking favors from a guy who they knew at the time to be a sex criminal, and they should be.
Nobody who's been incidentally mentioned or revealed to have had only trivial interactions with Epstein has suffered any consequence worse than being mildly embarrassed, at most, and they have been the focus of little if any media coverage.

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

One way to prevent another Watergate story - sack all the reporters.
The hallmark (the “brand”) of the Washington Post has been accountability journalism. Thus, today’s staff decimation is Bezos’s greatest gift to Trump, so much more valuable than the Melania movie, inauguration money, etc. This disaster began, for real, with the Harris endorsement he killed.
