It turns out that protecting hate speech did not create the conditions to protect other kinds of speech; instead, it protected hate and allowed hate movements to take over all the institutions of that might have defended the rest of us.

“Kennedy would be less hazardous if he decided to do cardiac surgery. Then he would kill people only one at a time rather than his current ability to kill by the thousands. Why is it that killing a single person is seen as murder but killing masses is excused if you are a politician?”

🔴 THREAD: RFK Jr. just canceled 22 mRNA vaccine projects.

TL;DR: mRNA vaccines saved millions of lives. Ending these projects puts us at risk and leaves us unprepared for the next big outbreak.

Here’s what RFK Jr. did — and why everyone should care. 🧵

Worth noting: Naming it the Kennedy Center was one of the reasons that it even got built. LBJ wanted a vibrant cultural center in the nation's capital, and this -- in the wake of JFK's assassination -- was how he got Congress to go along with it. See next post: presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/re...

I agree with the New England Journal that the editorial independence of scientific journals must be preserved. The case might have been even stronger had the journal refused Prasad and Makary's problematic article on FDA COVID vaccine policy in May.

None of this is true. As a former researcher and published author I resent these lies and how destructive they are!!!!
Evasion of peer review is a hallmark of pseudoscience.

But even more insidious is the obviation of scientific scrutiny by publishing in pseudoscientific journals that exist to provide an illusion of scientific legitimacy.

There’s nothing new about MAHA’s propaganda tactics.
