The song that signaled its band’s terminal decline and revealed its frontman to be an egotistical blowhard?

Glass Onion was the moment I realized I had an actual hatred of onscreen didacticism.

I absolutely despise anything Greg Daniels does in live action. You can make “everyone generally gets along and is one big family” funny in animation, but in live action…absolute garbage humans only, please.
Apropos that op-ed about Harry Potter, what's some pop culture with The Right Politics that you still can't stand? For me it's BARBIE and EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.

This means we don’t need them.
The people of Minnesota did that. Not Schumer and Jeffries, not Walz and Frey, not the standard-bearers of decorum. The People.

Today is the 51st anniversary of the Montlake Freeway Station, opened on Saturday, January 25, 1975.

It was the first of many “freeway flyer” stops that Metro would build throughout King County. The idea came from LA but Seattle embraced the concept, leading to today’s regional express bus network.

And there were a lot of ex-Nazis just crawling around in the West German government. Similar story in Japan (check out who Shinzo Abe was related to). Our biggest mistake in occupying and rebuilding both countries.
Way too many people in this country asking how Germany deNazified are going to be very unhappy when they learn they kinda didn't, we paid for a bunch of their Nazis to come over here and do shit like run our space program.

I wonder if any other country‘s Scary Far Right Boogeyman is also understood to be stupid and incompetent. I don’t necessarily mean buffoonish like your Mileis or Farages, I mean like, it’s clear if they get into power their attempts to remake the country in their image will crash and burn.

There is no conceivable universe in which either of these people are cis.

I am, in thinking about it, genuinely surprised it took this long for Sunn O))) to put a Rothko on one of their album covers.

It’s been clear for some time that Walz is a decent enough elected official in peacetime…but it is no longer peacetime.
An elected official in this case has his hands tied. You can't tell people to go get themselves killed. You have to land on the head of a pin, and whether you land or not depends on perspective.

It’s less “they don’t understand just how angry the normies are” and more “they don’t think the normies will ever start doing things we cannot discuss in writing.“

At this point anyone who complains about lack of "training" amongst the American Gestapo can be read to be mostly upset ICE is disappearing people *unprofessionally.* If the genocide was quick, quiet, and clean they wouldn't find it so objectionable.

The next 1975 album should have a song about Taylor Swift on it. It’d make a lot of people very angry and it would be very, very funny.

Oh also some Dems just like what's happening. They may not say it, but they like it. They'd rather be token, kept opposition in a Vichy state doing All of This (TM) than actually do anything to stop because they actually like it all they just don't want to go mask off about it.

So many Dems seem to want to avoid this issue like the plague because they believe that deep down everyone actually wants All of This (TM) re: immigration enforcement.

What I don't think they realize is the longer they stall or ignore the more likely they'll be left in the dust by popular rage.
right now the floor for me is abolish ICE and put every agent on trial and the average elected democrat is like what if we told them to cut it out

lifestyle was not considered a strictly luxury product. the sad reality is that we're never going back to an economy that produces truly cheap urban cores any time soon so to ensure that they remain affordable it will take a lot of investment in subsidization and incentives by municipalities.
