The amnesty of ‘86 was far and away the best thing about Reagan’s presidency and perhaps the most courageous, morally upright action any president of any party has taken on the issue in all American history
The only way we're going to get to "comprehensive immigration reform" is with a general amnesty of unauthorized immigrants in the country. If Reagan can do it, so can we. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysmg...

Oh my god there’s no limit to the evil today. The rapist should have his ban reinstated while the appeal is still pending. For him to show his face and the ISU and IOC to just allow him in these venues smugly upsetting everyone who sees him is just horrific #MilanoCortina2026

random but did anyone else in the US catch the bit at the men's short where the commentators were being garbage about gender? someone asked why the men skew older & have longer careers; the reply was some bs abt how "women mature younger" and not, yanno, that the men's field is way less competitive

i genuinely try not to talk about this any more bc i step on someone else's landmine every time i do but yeppppp 💯 i studied history & philosophy of psych at one point, so, I'm not even gonna finish this sentence. but I am an entity realist; if it works, it works, doesn't matter if the theory is bs
Jokes aside I actually do find philosophy training a real bar to therapy, maybe especially philosophy of science training, because therapists have an unfortunate habit of relying on really bad theories they can't properly explain or justify.

The pronoun labeler, which was by far the most useful labeler on the site, was deleted by its creator. But thanks to @ripperoni.com there’s a new one available. I highly recommend it. It’s a great way to share your pronouns or see someone else’s pronouns at a glance.

everything this admin does falls into the "really stupid" bucket or the "insanely sinister" bucket. by default most stuff goes into the really stupid bucket. while putting a really stupid item in the insanely sinister bucket looks bad, putting an insanely sinister item in the stupid bucket is worse

A MAGA freak in Texas murdered his own daughter in cold blood after they had an argument about Trump.

A grand jury in the Dallas area then *declined to indict him*, and he has not yet faced charges.

Seems like many Texans believe a man has the right to kill his own child for disobedience.

This couldn’t be clearer. Bannon’s texts to Epstein in mid July 2018 - “overthrowing May right now” and in “London with Boris” as well as his appearance on LBC with Nigel Farage are prettying damning evidence of a cross party plot with foreign backing

This is far more egregious than the SLC judging scandal. This is about deeply misogynistic culture across FS, enabled by the Montreal school & other rinks (OH HAI Silvia), the IOC, the federations, NBC, and shit documentaries that trade the truth for access. And how they punish those who speak out.
You know, if NBC hadn't fired Gabriela Papadakis she probably wouldn't have mentioned Guillaume and Laurence's villainy out of professionalism and she probably wouldn't have had all this free time to go on TV and talk about how fucked up it all is.

That cease and desist backfired a bit, huh?

At the protests in Boston on Jan 10, a state police helicopter hovered low enough over the crowd that it was hard to hear the speakers. None of the usual news helicopters were overhead.

I filed a public records request with @massstatepolice.bsky.social asking why.

The loud helicopter is state police.

It’s oppressive. Intimidating. Making it hard to hear the speakers.

One of the most blackpilling things about the Biden years was that we heard for *years* before that that ppl would happily support a slight rise in costs if it meant that lower wage workers got a raise & when we saw that actually get implemented a bit, ppl lost their fucking minds with rage
Remarkable. Higher income wage growth is stronger than lower income. Before about a year ago, that was flipped. Lower income wage growth used to be very strong pre 2025. BofA data
