Remember the other day when I was saluting my friend Greg Ketter, owner of Minneapolis’ DreamHaven Books? This is him the following day. Greg will never say this, so I will — now is a great time to buy books from DreamHaven. Support Americans who stand up vs. 🧊. dreamhavenbooks.com

Non-masked MN National Guard are out handing out hot chocolate, coffee and donuts to protesters. One simple act has de-escalated the situation and helped gain the trust of people. See the difference between professional soldiers and the pretend tough guys in CBP and ICE?

rightwingers see people caring about others in their community and instead of finding that inspiring they think it’s some sort of grand conspiracy because they don’t understand what it means to care for others you don’t personally know

This is correct. Having access to these data means they get a copy, not that they have access to the state's database and can rummage around deleting people off it.

And voter registration is largely moot anyway in a state w/ same-day registration, as MN has.
Murphy used this language too and I think it’s important to say that you can’t “rig” elections with raw voter file data.

The feds cannot compel states to deregister people. States run their elections.

They likely do want this data to fuel their conspiracy theories about non-citizen voting.
"ICE will leave Minnesota if you hand over your voter rolls" tells you everything you need to know.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

Kristi Noem and her department’s latest attempt to mislead the American public regarding the brutal and unjustified killing of Alex Pretti is deeply shameful, and she must be impeached and removed from office immediately.

I encountered dozens of vigils across the Twin Cities last night, either with people still present or candles left twinkling in the snow. Some made candleholders by freezing flowers and stickers in water. They seemed to be a creative collaboration with the extreme cold, gentle expressions of love.

There was a call to “shine a light for Minnesota” last night.

Families gathered on the corner of St. Clair & Cleveland in St. Paul. They sang songs & honored Alex Pretti, “a new person to hold in our hearts forever.”

“We’re gunna support every single person here & we’re gunna get [ICE] out.”

This is like how the Catholic Church passed known pedophiles from parish to parish
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

The info the volunteer told me, he asked that I report it out. The machinations of Safe Haven’s jail support function as any jail support does, except they do it every day, all the time, for everyone, and they have vowed they won’t stop until ICE is gone.

A grassroots network of mutual aid volunteers called Safe Haven has been doing nearly round-the-clock jail support for everyone released from detainment at Whipple, the federal building ICE operates from.

They provide medics, rides, food, clothes, phones—anything people need after being released.

that's not how anything works they're lying and destroying evidence hope that helps
And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.
ICE Says Critical Evidence In Abuse Case Was Lost In 'System Crash' a Day After It Was Sued
The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."

Pretti was lying down in the street, disarmed. At that moment, he was defenseless. Renee Good was trying to leave the scene when she was shot.
Q: Between your agency and ICE, we've known seen 2 people shot and killed with 17 days. Do either of you plan to take any accountability?

BOVINO: You're correct. Two suspects have been shot. And suspects that assault or threaten a law enforcement officer's life, it goes back to poor choices.
