One reason I'm sorry to see @kellythompson.bsky.social's Birds of Prey go is that it feels like the first comic we've gotten with a fully realized Cassandra Cain, as the sum of all she's endured, and all her ambition. In all but name, in this series, she was 100% Batman.

You could argue that Scrooge was a man who worked hard, but gave up any morals beyond "I do everything I can, so should you." not realizing that, though he worked hard, he still had opportunities given to him. He neglects to realize that even a small act of kindness can effect someone's entire life.

Once more thinking about how it's crucial to the story of A Christmas Carol that Ebenezer Scrooge was at his core, a decent guy who had a hard life, and was worthy of being redeemed. And even at his worst, he never cheated his employees and did what he did within the laws of the land.

He died the same year Scarlet Spider was in Spider-Verse. They had to crowdfund his funeral.
