People very well may die as a result of this and I think that’s the plan.

They’re probably already storyboarding ads blaming democrats for the plane crashes.
Sean Duffy: "The secretary of war texted me yesterday and said, 'I might have some air traffic controllers. If you could use them, I'm gonna offer them to you.' I don't know that I can, Jake, because they're not certified in the airspaces that we need them. But if I can, I'm going to use them."

Went back to the history of the Sicilian Mafia to illustrate something obvious but worth stating explicitly: The Trump administration behaves like an organized crime syndicate running a protection racket, not a representative government www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

He and the Court are deliberately creating famine, all while he’s knocking down the White House so he can build his Car Dealership Rococo ballroom.

This makes King Charles I look like Ghandi.

Even Marie Antoinette would have balked at the level of L'appel du vide on display with this regime.

Trump on food stamp recipients: "It wasn't meant for people that could do whatever they want. The people that say, 'Well, I don't think I'll work. I'll just collect this money.'"

We have plenty of air traffic controllers at the small airports that service private jets who could be moved to the major airports.

But then Kash Patel and his rich buddies would be impacted… so instead everybody is going to have to skip seeing family for the holidays.

Travelers at Portland International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are being advised to call airlines before turning up. The recommendations come after the Federal Aviation Administration said it would reduce air traffic by 10% across 40 “high-volume” markets to maintain safety.

To put this in scale, Elon Musk's salary from Tesla alone could fund the SNAP program for the entire country into 2034.

The danger of gerrymandering is that it is built on optimizing for very narrow margins of victory, and so if the electorate shifts that MinMaxing can bite you in the ass.

In other news… check out the broad electoral shift that’s happening.

Because you /know/ Trump would claim he had "no choice" but to declare himself Pope.
BREAKING: After ICE refuses to allow detained migrants to receive the Eucharist, Pope Leo calls on Trump and Vance to respect migrants‘ dignity and religious liberty.

“They must allow ministers to assist with their needs. They've been separated from their families and no one knows what happens.”

It’s wild how weak strongmen are.

The current President is terrified of a mayoral candidate, is locked in a decades long beef with Terk from Tarzan (look it up), and his arch nemesis is Portland f’ing Oregon.

Even President Harrison was stronger than this, and he was taken out by a chilly day.

Trump and Miller endorsed Cuomo.

I can’t think of any better indication of how shook the oligarchs are, and how fragile their grip on power is.

This is a race for MAYOR and the White House is terrified that Mamdani might win.

Weak.
