Conservatarian, OG NeverTrump, this ship won’t change course on its own. We have to put the effort in.

Good morning, lawgeeks. We have SCOTUS decisions at 10.

We don't know how many or which, but some important cases still pending: age verification on the internet, redistricting, ACA preventive care coverage, and parental/religious rights to avoid LGBT in public schools.

People can say what they want. The quality of my interactions is much higher on BlueSky than on X. And I typically don't go to bed feeling angered or sickened by the people I've interacted with that day.

To everyone that said Democrats like Van Hollen were making a political mistake in defending due process, you were wrong, and we shouldn’t even need a poll to tell us that.

Remember when people tried to claim that Russiagate was a nothingburger?

Ah, well, nevertheless...
DOGE forced their way into National Labor Relations Board's computer systems. A heroic employee saved logs of their activities. Including a login attempt from Russia.

New from me.

The hardest thing about writing this bit of satire was trying to come with a policy so absurd that even Trump would never suggest it.

I *think* I found one.

If I was China and I had instincts to take Taiwan, I might move Monday.

(Note: I do not believe China will try to invade Taiwan anytime soon.)

Nobody knew how bad this would be, except for the many people whose warnings I dismissed, but they don’t count.

Actually a good distillation of the mindset. Having already unpersoned everyone who understood what was happening, there’s no need to reconsider the belief in one’s inherent superiority.

WOW: @miamiherald.com reveals that a person imprisoned in El Salvador had LEGAL REFUGEE STATUS.

He entered the USA legally in January and was detained because of his tattoos, EVEN THOUGH he had previously passed a full background check.

Without warning, he was sent to El Salvador on March 15.

This is evidence of the absolute viciousness of the right these days, and of the badly broken system.

Blood will be spilled if this doesn’t get brought under control.
Rodney Taylor is a beloved Georgia barber who came to the United States from Liberia with his mother when he was only two years old. He applied for citizenship but was denied. But this year, ICE arrested him, locked him up, and has scheduled him to be deported to a faraway country he's never known.
