My latest article, "In Praise of Generative AI," is forthcoming in the Iowa Law Review! In it, I present accounts from the Worst People You Will Ever Meet In Law in which they praise generative AI and all the extra terrible behavior it enables: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

the Pokemon commercial works so well because it's kind of like inviting someone to talk about their fantasy football team, except people actually care about this one

Embarrassing to see adults talk to robots in a public forum. That'd be like if your friend asked a mailbox for directions once. You'd roast him for decades for that shit. Every time the concept of navigating space came up you'd hit him with "Why don't you ask the mailbox?"

LOL. Who needs whistles for their community groups, their PTAs, those Magic: The Gathering nights at the game store, their church organizations, outreach programs, whatever. The roving band of whistle goblins will get you whistles, for free, 100-1000. Drop a line: linktr.ee/3Dwhistles
Right-wing media figures are furious at activists for using whistles during ICE activity

I don't know if non-lawyers understand how insane this statement is. I honestly can't think of anything remotely comparable in non-lawyer speak. I guess the closest would be a surgeon saying "Imagine if I had to wash my HANDS before doing surgery!"
Mike Johnson speaks out against the use of judicial warrants in immigration cases:

"Imagine if we had to go through the process of getting a judicial warrant"

Yeah. I dunno, I just don't think it's okay that we appear to be ruled by literally the most amoral monsters on the planet?
Man, it’s wild that normal people just go to work every day while the people who run everything meticulously document their sex crimes

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test

Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)

Good tech.

Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)

Bad tech.

This is notable to me because I've heard from some other lawyers that they're not worried about AI hallucinations because they only use the premium Westlaw or Lexis versions. Supposedly, they are limited to the real case databases

This clerk used Lexis+ and Lexis Protege and got 8 hallucinations

Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
