It is courage, but it’s ordinary courage. What Minneapolis is doing can happen anywhere. The alternative—ignoring the thousands of masked men with machine guns kidnapping and killing in broad daylight—is simply impossible.
If (when?) this happens in my city, may I have a tenth of this courage.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.

The story in Minnesota is not about “clashes” or protests. What is happening here is the clearest example in my life of the government violating every basic principle America is supposedly founded upon. It is lawless, unconstitutional, and un-American.
