“I am, as you say, relentlessly cheerful because it’s the best fuck you I can think of to this terrible world.” - Senior Chief Petty Officer Jenks Khan, from “And the Mighty Will Fall”

Thank you @kbwagers.com for another joyful read, and the perfect encapsulation of feels I’m holding close today❤️

It is courage, but it’s ordinary courage. What Minneapolis is doing can happen anywhere. The alternative—ignoring the thousands of masked men with machine guns kidnapping and killing in broad daylight—is simply impossible.
If (when?) this happens in my city, may I have a tenth of this courage.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.

This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Went upstairs for a minute, came back downstairs into the dining room to this. 😂

It’s not for no reason we call Junie our little mountain goat 🐐.

This is a high top table. Granted there are tiny-dog steps on one side for Molly to get to her co-pilot seat next to where I usually sit/work.

if someone punches your neighbor and you go to protect them, that does not make you a protester. that makes you someone who protects your neighbor.

one of the single worst elements of Soviet repression were the silent disappearances overnight; at least in Minneapolis, when fedl agents are doing their kidnapping, the whole street is aware and trying to help

2026 is seeing that the U.S. Army is mobilizing a unit specialized for winter conditions, but not knowing if the intended mission is violent repression of an American city or stealing territory from a U.S. treaty ally.

The story in Minnesota is not about “clashes” or protests. What is happening here is the clearest example in my life of the government violating every basic principle America is supposedly founded upon. It is lawless, unconstitutional, and un-American.

Good news fam down 6 lbs since occupation started.

Want to lose weight? Have you considered living under a federal occupation with armed masked goons with no identification kidnapping people for being brown and as a result being so stressed out that you can't eat? Well I have a diet plan for you.

Instead of giving your money to Simon Rosenberg's vague plea to fund the DFL for vague reasons, please give to shelter our unsheltered Indigenous relatives TODAY during this very cold cold snap.
Our community is in peril. Our neighbors need our help in this time of ICE presence and subzero temperatures.

Mpls has a shortage of available shelter for residents, and our city govt has not developed adequate resources to humanely house people.

Please support MIWRC in this time of emergency.
