Controversial opinion but maybe allowing people to work in order to pay for an asylum claim?
(it wouldn't seem as punitive, I know. This isn't about financing the asylum scheme, it's about being seen as tough on asylum. Blech)
OMG what the hell.
This is just cruel
Jewelry often has a value beyond the practical, it's often a reminder of loved ones.
Could this timeline be a little less reminiscent of 1930ies Germany?
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

Former IDW Sonic comics editor, by the way. Help them out if you can!
If anyone's got things they need a writer for, let me know. October's going to be a weird month as finances are running low and unemployment's not going to make up the gap, so anything that'll help work-wise is greatly appreciated!
Putting this out there too, if you're organizing a comics anthology, I'd love to be a part of it! I like writing shorts!

My schedule's such that I can't really organize another myself rn, but if anyone is looking to make ones for a cause and needs an editorial eye, I can try to make that work!

One of the most iconic videos I’ve ever filmed—stepping outside our cabin in Venetie, Alaska and seeing an auroral substorm occurring directly overhead. This was a legendary view.

"Farage claimed last year to have “bought a house” in his constituency, but the property is actually owned in the name of his partner, meaning he legally avoided higher-rate stamp duty on the purchase of an additional home – given that he already owns other properties."

Yesterday was our author @premeemohamed.com's birthday, and the best present BlueSky could give her would be to track down her fuzzy silver/grey feline-on-the-run Fiasco.

Franca has been found thankfully, but Fiasco remains at large. If you're in the Edmonton area, please keep an eye out for him!🐾

This is the #1 climatologist in the world: James Hansen.

He’s spent 50 years studying what humans are doing to the climate.

He's gone out on a limb time and time again - and been proven right.

His message? It’s far worse than they’re telling you. 🧵

In the UK, the bogeyman is a fictional monster that many parents use to scare their children into behaving. The bogeyman exists in Hungary also, but small children are more commonly threatened with a visit from Rézfaszú Bagoly, or “The Owl with a Copper Dick.”
