Honestly think it would be a win for UK cultural-political discourse if, instead of hiring people like that Mance guy to spew "anti woke" shite then lie about having done so, the FT filled its pages exclusively with think-pieces about early 90s sitcom Dinosaurs & the relative merits of Earl vs Fran

So I read 'Tradwife,' by @tcparker.bsky.social, in basically a single sitting yesterday. It's sort of contemporary true crime/mystery/mild horror-ish (by my estimation, any way), and...it's soooooo good. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Plus, the cover got banned! So read banned books!

Making this its own post, because on reflection I'm STILL pissed off about how history's treated Lady Godiva
(Also... writing To Coventry gave me an opportunity to argue with the horribly misogynistic historical framing of Lady Godiva. Which, as someone from the Midlands who's walked past her statue more times than I can count, was profoundly cathartic)
