My colleague and I wrote a piece about the urgent need for Europe to partner with Canada in building a digitally sovereign ecosystem—one that can withstand the threats posed by US tech authoritarianism:
"An independent, democratic digital ecosystem [will] safeguard privacy, protect freedom of expression, and ensure that technology is developed to benefit the many, [not] a handful of people in Washington and Silicon Valley."

What’s not so obvious is how much Jeffrey Epstein mattered as a causal force in all the geopolitical machinations he was part of. Was he a grifter arbitraging world events, profiteering off oppression? Or was he setting world events in motion? www.un-diplomatic.com/p/epstein-ge...

And while gifted leaders can sometimes accomplish this with rhetoric, the most reliable methods are rooted in ongoing face-to-face relationships, within organizations whose purposes are *not* directly political. The target audience is not “usual suspects” who already show up to political meetings.

This means: “rather than flooding swing states with a tidal wave of talking points, effective campaigns of democratic renewal will focus on reshaping the meaning of identities that have been captured by anti-democratic forces—eg rurality or masculinity—and shifting the salience of others—eg class.”

In the rare case this is not clear:

The European People’s Party (EPP) has been the main architect of this. They have spent months trying to get to this point, despite opposition (see failed vote on Oct 23). Effectively the EPP has chosen to align with the far rights with this move.
The European Parliament has just adopted a position on Omnibus I, a deregulation proposal that seeks to significantly water down key EU sustainability laws that were recently adopted, including the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence directive.

Good luck keeping up EU credibility at COP30…

Austria’s frmr chancellor Sebastian Kurz - who is working with/for Peter Thiel - was introduced to Steve Bannon by Jeffrey Epstein. Finally we get some more insights about how these far-right networks were formed over the years…
This specific one seems significant.

Epistemic violence against sexual abuse accusers—smearing them as deluded, crazy, or incompetent—is something rapists know works, and they conspire to do it.
Jeffrey Epstein advised Steve Bannon that the lawyers representing Brett Kavanaugh in his confirmation hearing should accuse Christine Blasey Ford of being on medications that cause false memories or memory loss.

Can we circle back to the part where the NY Times never disclosed that they have incriminating information on Donald Trump from sent by Epstein that's been sitting on their email servers for nearly a decade?
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies

One under discussed aspect of lethal US strikes in the Caribbean is the effect on mil-intel cooperation with foreign partners.

If I was still in the US government & a foreign partner started lawlessly killing people like this, I'd definitely raise a red flag w/r/t intel sharing, arms sales, etc.
