I don’t want to depress you all but the entire media and political class will have moved on from this latest Trump racist outburst by tomorrow, Monday at the very latest. He gets away with it every time - because he is allowed to get away with it, and because he floods the zone.

What she said.
HOLD UP. This headline from the @wsj.com is dead wrong - No one at the actual opening ceremonies thinks the US team was being booed. Come on! The CBC broadcasters & people in the stadium are all crystal clear that JD VANCE WAS BEING BOOED, not the team.

Vice President JD Vance gets roundly booed at the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics. "Those are a lot of boos for him, whistling jeering," says the presenter. US athletes receive a warm welcome from fans, though.

Neither the President nor Vice President of the United States can make a public appearance in front of a non-partisan crowd either in America or abroad without being booed.
NEW: Huge cheers earlier for the Ukrainian athletes at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Then huge BOOS as JD Vance comes on the big screen in the stadium.

Even the commentators can’t hide it…

Blumenthal: ICE and CBP are out of control. The practices of this agency have to be completely overhauled. It’s like a corporation in bankruptcy—either dissolved or reorganized. They’re morally bankrupt, legally bankrupt, and politically bankrupt.

Wow! So nice to see the Trump admin getting rebuked like this. Good.
Federal judge: "The presumption of regularity that has previously extended to [the United States Government] that it could be taken at its word—with little doubt about its intentions and stated purposes—no longer holds."

This is in a case where the Trump admin sued Oregon.

The world is angry. Canada's been there all along. 🍁🍁🍁!
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“For better or for worse, what people most admire in Canada, certainly more than success, is the capacity to endure,” Stephen Marche writes. “What liberal democracies need now, more than ever, is the sheer will to go on, without nostalgia for what once was.”

ICE stormed a residence hall at Augsburg University, detained an undergrad, and aimed rifles at students and staff before admitting they had no warrant to be there. This is state violence. This is terror. And this is what Trump’s America unleashes on our communities.

No wonder the orange toddler is unhinged once again.

The Obamas are competent, classy, loving, Harvard and Princeton graduates, loved by many, not on the Epstein files, got the Nobel Peace Prize, and gave us a steady economy to boot.

Repost this if you agree they are AMAZING and an inspiration!

DEFIANCE through compassion. Yes indeed.
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

Shrinking MAGA

"Trump’s base is hate-filled and dangerous, but it is not the majority. Only 27 percent of respondents say they support all or most of Trump’s policies, down from 35 percent when he took the oath of office. The erosion is proceeding fast, and there is plenty of room for more. Onward!"
NEW: "As we survey the wreckage of Trump’s second term, it is often said that 'half the country voted for this,' or worse, 'half the country is fine with this.'" The truth, though, is that Trump's MAGA base "is not the majority. Nor is it half of the country."
