Farage hopes he can breeze into power without scrutiny. But his racism, corrupt donations, shady links to Russia and MAGA… make it harder for him to hide. And his tantrum reactions to being challenged reveal him for the nasty inadequate he really is.

The Wheels Are Falling off the Nigel Farage Project
The Reform leader's increasingly rattled public appearances betray a growing sense that the opportunity of a lifetime could be about to slip from his fingers

A "FIFA Peace Prize" is tantamount to getting an "AutoZone Best Actor in a Dramatic Play" award.

And "I want to really save lives" is rich coming from the homicidal slob who is murdering people on fishing boats in the Caribbean.

The super-rich rightwing are pouring money into Reform. Do ordinary voters really think their aim is to even out social inequality and make their lives better? Do they think they’re doing it so Farage invests in infrastructure and public services? Ffs. Democracy being beaten to death in plain sight.

Mason going for the jugular on the BBC News confirms that Robbie Gibb has taken his 'outing' at the Select Committee rather badly. A reminder: a grifting MP absent from his constituency, lying about the UK to the US Senate, deflecting claims of Russian collusion & racism, is the real news story.

The absolute state of the BBC news just now - which seems determined to drag the government down over the budget.

Where was all this attention to minute detail and concern for absolute accuracy when the Tories were lying their way through their chaotic reign for 14 years? It's frankly absurd.

Whatever happened to Leveson 2? Chris Mason, Kuntsberg et al now completely out of control & Reform continue to be given a disproportionate amount of air time. This will continue until the BBC board is dismantled

This is a useful thread on the controversy today. But away from the detail, when BBC Verify have to effectively fact-check their own Political Editor (who is *not* a columnist but an Editor at a public broadcaster!), you know there is something of a problem.
Did Rachel Reeves and the Government “mislead” people about the state of the public finances and the need for tax rises before the Budget?

I think this is a rather complex question & the answer is not black and white.

A thread…🧵1/12

Johnson's lies led to the needless deaths of 23000 people.
Rachel Reeves' spin doesn't even register on the scale of Johnson (and Hancock's) deceit.

It is just incredible that the people who always go on about immigration and muslims and sharia law in Britain are the first to promote British immigration into a muslim country with sharia law.

“Labour are total bastards. They’ve caused all the problems of the past 2000 years.

Just paraphrasing UK media, including BBC

Does anyone remember this kind of coverage of Tories, when, for 14 yrs, they were lying through their teeth, directing untold billions of public money to their friends etc?

‘We’re bored so as a hunting pack we’ll just manufacture a Whitehall drama because we are so addicted to them’ is quite the admission.

Because the media are bored. I'm not trying to start a pile on because I agree with Jessica it sounds about right. But maybe that's a 'you the media' problem as much as the politicians?
The reason this has been whipped up is the Budget is incredibly boring and tame, with no fundamental reform of anything. It’s a bit of fiscal drag and some tinkering on issues of marginal interest. Really the question is why wasn’t there more serious measures given the economy’s relative stability?
It’s an indictment of our media that more time is being spent on whether Reeves lied about the need to raise taxes than on the actual substance of the policies announced on Wednesday.
