Rereading and editing previous chapters rather than finishing the new ones I'm working on. Productive procrastination, maybe? I don't know.

My fic is for people who want to read completely conflict free fluff I think. I mean. It's just . . . I don't even know, folks.

It's weird. I'm still learning & have so fucking much to learn. Every time I think this is embarrassing & I shouldn't post this stuff, someone says something nice tho.
February 9, 2026 at 10:51 AM
I've gone from someone who was thinking "I should never post a WIP" (to AO3 etc.) to "OMG people say nice things after each chapter this is great" in a short time even though wow it's a different experience writing like that. Does motivate me but also there's more pressure I dunno. Very different. 🤷‍♀️

Genius maneuver moving vid show replay earlier in the day to avoid the Superb Owl . . . only to put it opposite the Puppy Bowl. No one had registered interest in it & I haven't slept in 24+ hours so . . . no vid show replay thingie today.

(Up all night writing/posting fic again. Ope.)

I've been having a LOT of thoughts lately about how people manage to create and enjoy art while in the midst of traumatic events. And about how art can help people survive, connect, resist . . .

Nothing new, art always persists & is informed by it, but it's different living it I guess.

I think I actually managed to get through all of the Festivids before reveals and commented on a lot of them (even if my comments were, uh, pretty simple). It's funny I somehow managed this year given I'm so much busier than usual but last year was a wash due to grief obviously.

After having only an hour of sleep early this morning & then an hour of sleep in the afternoon, I was feeling drowsy (of course) and thought I'd crash early tonight (obviously) so then I suddenly had words for the WIP I'd been stalled out on and uh, wrote & posted a 5,500 word chapter. WTF.

I don’t have anything clever or insightful to say. I am just still numb and in disbelief that we have been in what others recognize as a war zone and the leaders of our state and country go on as if nothing unusual is happening.

I need a "I would rather be watching fanvids than fighting fascism" button or something but a gal can do both. (May need to do one to survive the other.)

Though boy is it a rude awakening to check chats & socials & other lines of communication after being in a multihour vid-watching bubble. JFC.

I cannot stress enough to people who are not from Minneapolis that the news you have seen in the past week about things calming, and messaging from our electeds at *every level higher than City Council* that local agencies will protect us... That's all fucking LIES.
Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt needs to stop assisting ICE. It’s very clear that the sheriff’s department has been harassing, intimidating, arresting and coming out in force to assist ICE. They have been using force against neighbors who are working to protect our immigrant neighbors. 2/

Anyway. if you're in the. U.S. please keep calling your members of congress and remind them it's really not okay for the federal government to occupy or lay siege to a whole state and terrorize the people there.

if you've got $ there are places to donate here:

I wish they'd give us a single day off from the horrors.

(I hate how when I take breaks to try to enjoy or work on other things, catching up afterward is a cavalacade of horrors in addition to the low-level horrors that never really stop.) (I always tell people to take breaks, but . . . it's hard.)

Apparently one of my stories made someone keyboard smash and they said they'd doodle hearts around the margins of their comment if they could and I think I'm high from getting such a lovely comment. (Never got one this long and detailed on any of my works before. I appreciate them all, but wow.)
January 28, 2026 at 3:57 AM
This is what you do in MN now. You're always ready to film the abductions that happen any time and can happen anywhere. It's what Renee Good did and what Alex Pretti did. They were not protesting, they were observing so we have a record of the abuses & abductions (& know who they take).
The request includes a declaration from a witness who filmed today's shooting of Pretti.

Read their words:

"I feel afraid. Only hours have passed since they shot a man right in front me and I don't feel like I can go home because I heard agents were looking for me.

I got a couple of nice comments on AO3 on one of the many crappy days in recent memory and it gave me cheer in a dark time and today I thought "okay, someone needs to do that today" which is totally a rational thought. (It is not.)

Also not sure how I do the vid show tomorrow but I think I need to.
