It was annoying it's on a story I'm really proud of so I was eager to see if anyone would read it and comment. Then the comment was very generic & trying to get me to talk to them away from AO3 about something they wouldn't name. Uh-huh, sure.

I'll put up a more coherent bookmark rec at some point when I stop flailing.

(You lovers of rarepairs understand what it's like when a story drops—yay!—and it's actually really fucking good—so much more yay!)

I love how whenever I post a screenshot from AO3 I invariably wind up changing the title or summary or tags almost immediately after I do so it's kind of obsolete.

LOL. Just a short little story I wrote. Not entirely happy with all of it, but I had fun writing it and learned some things as I did and at least a few people are enjoying reading it so good enough.

104,764 word count on what was supposed to be a shorter story. Ah well. I did post a 25K story!

Chapter 17 is up! Putting the story at 99,713 words. 😂

The chapter was going to be longer but I decided to move some of it into an epilogue (yes, there's still a little more to come but the main story is concluded).

Oh hooray, i got through and got it updated. I wasn't satisfied with the very end before but I'm happier with it now. I should really probably have sat on this a bit longer and done another reread of the whole thing before posting but whatever. (At some point I have to stop rereading.)

Oh sure, I go and rewrite the last couple of sections and want to post them to AO3 and I'm getting a cloudlare error message and can't get to AO3. Rude!

It's all brilliant stuff, I'll have you know. (I didn't go over the last bits so much before posting & now I have.)

This fic is giving me even more of the "oh here's my heart on a plate" sensation though. No worries, I'm fine. Writing fiction is weird.

It's funny, I started writing that and abandoned it and wrote Structural Changes meaning it to be a better version of the same story but when I revisited this one, I loved what I had written. It became quite different, though they have some things in common (other than the obvious things).

My "this time I'll write a shorter story" story is gonna be over 100,000 words. 😂🤷‍♀️

. . . and I'm working on Chapter 17 already (updated the end note on chapter 16 to reflect that).

Just noticed I totally redid the summary for this story since I initially posted it here (when the first paragraph of the story, more or less, was used as summary I guess).

(Hmm, now that I've finished the story (maybe), maybe it needs more tweaking.) (Pondering.)

Not sure I did this chapter any favors by working in an old bit I wrote; I had a good flow going and inserting/integrating a scene I wrote weeks ago might have harmed it but I also realy liked part of it. Ugh, I prefer it when I just write it all in order, I think.

Chapter 16 is up, bringing the word count to 94,368 (LOL, very short story). Could be considered the final chapter, but I think I've got at least an epilogue I want to write (if not more than that). So ridiculous.

I did not stay up writing and now I wish I had written down the ideas that came to me yesterday. I'll start writing in my head and if I don't have my laptop and write things down immediately that stuff is lost forever. Uff da.

I wrote chapter 15 this afternoon but I was keen to keep writing and thought "I will write chapter 16 and maybe post two chapters tonight!" but then I looked at Bluesky & got caught up in politics (ugh) & failed to write more than the nearly 6,000 word chapter 15. Ah well. Shouldn't stay up writing.

Chapter 14 is up. Now at 82,054 words for this story which I guess is not a short story. 🤷‍♀️😂

I like how I breezed through months worth of events in chapter 1 and now I write nearly 7,000 words to cover a few days. Ah well. It varies a lot.
