What if I stuck eyes on a croissant?

If it’s too hot for us, it’s too hot for birds.
• Put out a shallow dish of water in the shade
• Add a stick or stone so small birds can safely climb out
• Top up bird baths regularly so water stays cool
• Keep water out of reach of cats, as heat-stressed birds are easy prey

Experience counts for everything in situations like this. Follow the whole thread there is great info. All be safe today.
If you live in Victoria, please
1. Fill your bath and sinks with cold water and get some towels
2. Be aware that the power grid may be damaged by fire and/or extreme peak demand (the grid could collapse).
3. Ensure your phone is charged and keep it on charge if possible.

In public housing, with no insulation, @artistaffame.bsky.social has only a small window air conditioning unit
“It’s so old. I bought it from Cash Converters for about $30 eight years ago,” “It basically does nothing. It will only cool one room down. In summer I literally have to stay in my bedroom.
As Melissa’s rental swelters in Adelaide’s heatwave, she is confined to her bedroom – the only bearable part of the house
Advocates say many renters live in ‘glorified tents’ that are too hot in summer and too cold in winter, forcing them to spend more on energy

Just a heads up for everyone not from Australia: if you have any Aussie mutuals be prepared for an influx of weather skeets. It’s proper stinking hot in some parts of the country, like scorching heat a lot of you couldn’t even begin to imagine.
A day of record-breaking heat looms for Victoria, with temperatures forecast to hit 49C in the Mallee and Melbourne facing its hottest day since Black Saturday 2009. 👉 www.theguardian.com/environ...

Also, "Gentlemen Bring A Plate".

(I lived in small country towns in the 1980s and community events advertised in the local paper invariably stated "Ladies Bring A Plate", meaning bring food to share)
is the cure for male loneliness showing up early and setting up chairs?
A lot of the Male Loneliness Epidemic can be traced back to the fact that most cis dudes don’t participate in communal logistics.

Just a heads up you don't have to be in a warning zone to self evacuate today from the Great Ocean Road or The Great Ottway National Park.

A lot of tree and sea changers should look at their options today.

Today there are plenty of open roads.

Tomorrow might be very different.

"The Art Of The Concept A Deal"
Trump: "We have a concept of a deal. I think it's gonna be a very good deal for the United States. Also for them. And we're gonna work together on something having to do with the arctic as a whole, but also Greenland. And it has to do with the security and other things."

Trump is now confusing Greenland and Iceland: "They're not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money."

If Albanese allows Marles to join the Peace Board we need a motion of no confidence on the floor of Parliament.

We can not allow Albanese’s cowardice to make Australia complicit in this madness any longer.

We are firmly on the wrong side of history right now.
