it's truly incredible that after a decade of trump being involved in politics (setting aside decades of his history in business) so many people still line up to make deals with him that end up with his knife in their back. anyway, mariá machado, step up and claim your fell for it again award.

it’s going to be weird going back to work and people talking like everything is normal. like in a final fantasy game when someone’s summoned a meteor from hell to destroy the planet and the villagers still only talk about the big chocobo pageant coming up

the invasion of Venezuela is a war to steal oil & impose colonialism on a sovereign nation.

the United States government has been grasping for justifications to inflict suffering against Venezuelans for years.

the previous president of Venezuela literally predicted the exact playbook Trump used.

You folks would have to force Trump to formally declare Martial Law, curfews and all, to deal with your daily obstruction.

You’d have to fight. And win. There is no appetite in White America for any of this. I say this as a half-white expert on racism and Project 2025.
For context, 3.5% of White America is just over 7 million white people—about the size of y’all’s #NoKings gatherings, actually.

But daily. Physically obstructing this authoritarian government. That’s what’s required.
Yet to see a take even from so-called experts on #Venezuela that’d actually translate to the collective mobilization of the approximately 3.5% of White America required to halt Project 2025.

Everything in Project 2025 is going according to plan. It’s all really happening. No coming back from this.

DHS says REAL ID, which DHS certifies, is too unreliable to confirm U.S. citizenship
It's the punch line to a bad joke that started 20 years ago when Congress passed the REAL ID Act.

There’s a reason you usually see 4’33 done with a piano. It doesn’t work on guitar. After 10 seconds the performer would start trying to check that their strings are still in tune before moving on to absentmindedly playing Wonderwall.

weird how people fixate on all those murderous criminals rampaging around the globe, declaring themselves leaders of other people’s land
WELKER: Mr. Secretary, are you running Venezuela right now?

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah. People are fixating on that. Here's the bottom line -- we expect to see changes in Venezuela

Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza.

It's 25 degrees outside.

Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!"

Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."

Well, this is also just the America we've built around ourselves these past 25 years. Airstrikes? Midnight raids? Black-bagging? That's the kind of stuff the President does now. It's illegal, but it's not delegitimizing. It holds to the expected pattern.
