generative AI has become widely available in the summer of 2022 and entered mainstream in 2023

people are working themselves up in a frenzy, convinced they're utterly helpless without software younger than still-fresh canned tuna. we have been making art for at least 50,000 years, get a grip

No but for real!!! I've had clients give me their "stick figure" drawings along with their written explanations and honestly I love them so much when I get 'em.

They're usually accompanied with an apology for how "bad" they are but honestly they're extremely helpful to us!!!

Doing tactile things has been helping my anxiety, and my genius sister-in-law made an app that prompts a daily doodle and I'm LOVING it. She just put out the beta.

Main rule: NO AI.

I'm 2/skwurlhat on there. Come draw with us. It's so nice.

Generative AI is an engine for churning out contaminated information faster than people can produce safe information, let alone fact check and correct it.

And corrections never remove the original contamination, it's an attempt to stem the metaphorical bleeding and hope for the best. 11/

Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.

Vaccine rates for flu and covid are way down this fall but that shit is out there kicking asses left and right. Go get your jabs, you can do both at once!
"The time to get vaccinated is now," the CDC says. The first child has died from flu in the U.S. this year, and the CDC is closely tracking a variant that might not be well-matched to the vaccine - but so far, it looks like the shot is still protective. CDC officials urge US flu vaccination after record child deaths last year
Americans told ‘time to get vaccinated is now’ as concerning mutation of influenza virus circulates in US

Do people on Linkedin know that they can make an honest post about the negative aspects of AI without a "don't get me wrong..." caveat?

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury
