Again, if you were alive in the 1980s, this is among the most wonderful & truly incredible things you have ever witnessed in your lifetime.
Just because good news is worth celebrating:

There is now a Prep medication that is an *every six month* injection.

HIV has, effectively, a vaccination.

What’s it like to have a mayor like this guy
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

Excellent idea.

Non-locals can also buy gift cards from local businesses that offer them to spend when you visit. (Or just buy them to show support or give to others who are here on the ground now.) Buy merch if offered too.

And of course throw money around here: www.standwithminnesota.com
Axios had a story today about how hard Minnesota’s economy is being hit and how slow the recovery could be. So, I’m going to take this opportunity to say that if you want to support the Twin Cities, you should plan a visit for this summer, spend some money here, & see how amazing it is for yourself.

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

Re-upping for the morning crew — thanks to everyone who donated last night, we’re at 60% of goal. A friend messaged me about sending over $100 from an overfunded mutual aid campaign he ran: “Just passing sandbags in this metaphorical flood.” That socked me in the soul. Love us so much.
Sadly, I have a personal ask: ICE kidnapped a staffer who works at my grandson’s daycare this weekend along with two other family members. Can you help the extended families with legal costs & famity support? It would mean a lot to me. I’m just sick about this. www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...

Up at Silverwood Park in St Anthony, MN, they built an ice carousel. Drill a hole in the ice, put in an outboard motor, cut the ice in a big circle, fire up the outboard, ice carousel.

People do fun weird shit outside in Minnesota all winter long. Park was packed. It’s delightful here.

Interestingly, what is typically the most “safe” mutual aid work—like delivering food to people in need—is now the most necessarily secretive, while that which is typically “risky”—directly confronting armed agents of the state—is unavoidably public and open.
What's tough to get across to folks outside MN is that both the occupation & everyday resistance are both happening at such a scale that it's kinda flipped a lot of what most would assume makes sense for precautions or 'opsec'. Everything from spicy stuff to mundane have different rules than before
