Well, there's some fantastic grist for sci-fi writers.
I've said it before and I will say it again. There is no way to secure a system when it's potential attack surface is *all of language*
Looks like LLMs are *very* vulnerable to attack via poetic allusion: "curated poetic prompts yielded high attack-success rates (ASR), with some providers exceeding 90% ..."

"It suggests Ford has established what amounts to a modern-day spoils system in his government, where public money is being handed out not based on need or merit but on who you know or who you pay."

"This is not a new criticism of Ford."

I’m no political strategist, but I think one of member of the Ontario NDP (and even the Liberals) should make a point every day of being ejected from the legislature for calling the Ford government corrupt.

Don't think I've ever come across the term "feral goldfish" before.

I'm thinking Cujo, but koi.

Wild (and great) story that's just the start of a massive change in how we attempt to validate information.

And I don't know if we'll be able to do much more than attempt.
A few months ago @thelocal.to got a promising pitch from a writer with bylines in whole bunch of reputable publications—The Cut, The Guardian, Dwell, Architectural Digest, etc. Then I started investigating. Here's a story about fabulists in journalism's AI slop era. thelocal.to/investigatin...

A suspicious pitch from a freelancer led editor Nicholas Hune-Brown to dig into their past work. By the end, four publications, including The Guardian and Dwell, had removed articles from their sites.

#Bill60 will likely be passed this week, and it will grow homelessness across Ontario — something our food banks, shelters, and municipalities do not have the resources to address.

When you wonder why encampments are growing in your community, remember Bill 60.

Was incredibly confused and alarmed for a sec, just reading the ABC post preview.

They're placing signs at the locations that read, 'ICE stole someone here'..."

this is an insane statistic for what is the fastest growing city and metropolitan area in north america. that growth isn't actually realized in most of the city.

it's usually places with tons of renters and density already that see the brunt of hyperfocused growth, & the consequences (displacement)
Almost everywhere in the City of Toronto has fewer people that it did 50 years ago

Hi @planning.cityof.toronto.ca thanks for the work you put into developing, consulting on, then consulting some more on Neighbourhood Retail & Services.

Random question, do the suburban wards still have the "Community Streets" classification in the by-laws, even if they don't have any zoning usage?
November 14, 2025 at 9:50 PM
I'm sure the province's cheque will be in the mail any moment now
Chow's motion requesting the province cover the full cost of crossing guards, police officers, and road safety improvements previously paid for by speed camera revenue CARRIES 25-0.

Ugh, that updated neighbourhood retail zoning map is going to be incredibly janky and convoluted.

10 years from now some junior planner is going to fall down the rabbithole of how and why "community streets" and throw up their hands.

(Much like I've been doing this entire day)
The neighbourhood retail report as amended CARRIES 23-2.

Toronto Council votes to permit corner stores in all Old Toronto & East York wards, and expands permission for retail on some (but not all) major streets city-wide.

November 12, 2025 at 5:39 AM
Ah, the Ford government is already extracting value from our schools.

But they know the real money is in the assets.
NEW: The Ford government is expecting supervisors at five school boards to charge the maximum $350,000 per year.

The money comes from board budgets, not the province.

That's technically a saving at TDSB, but not at smaller boards. #OnPoli
