"It suggests Ford has established what amounts to a modern-day spoils system in his government, where public money is being handed out not based on need or merit but on who you know or who you pay."

"This is not a new criticism of Ford."

Ugh, there's got to be a better way of presenting this than telling people to go for a treasure-hunt of highlighted text.

Marked up the Neighbourhood Retail major streets map to try and track the carve-outs from yesterday's Toronto Council vote (secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...).

It's the green highlighted areas with underlying yellow which represents current residential zoning. I don't vouch for it's accuracy.

Convenience store at Walpole and Woodfield, in an established residential neighborhood.

A terrifying revenant, from before modern zoning!

Promotional agreement! (Look, it was a legitimate line of inquiry)

In light of Ford nixing speed cameras by municipalities in Ontario, this new item at tomorrow's meeting of Toronto's Infrastructure and Environment Committee seems grimly coincidental:

Looking at wiki for the previous municipal election.

Have tried searching and looking at the City of Montreal and Elections Montreal for an expansion but no luck so far.

Found what looks to be some sort of tree frog in our (locally store-bought) kale.

Time to re-home the little fella tonight.

A map of Toronto's precious cultural heritage that so many dedicated activists are working hard to preserve.

Anyone care to guess what species this nest might belong to?

I'm located in Toronto, this had fallen from a higher location onto paving stones with little visible damage, and it's as clean and seemingly unused as it looks in the pic. Constructed of twigs, and grass set in mud.

No occupants around.

Hi @spacing.bsky.social can you update the article to current Ward numbering or equivalents?

"in three major downtown wards (20, 27, and 28)"

It's been seven years since we've had the reduced 25-ward system!

From the Ward 20 byelection results. Kandavel's support in green.
